on the second day of Symbicort my lungs gave to me . . .

Some wonky breathing time [and a long acting bronchodilator]! (now sing that to the tune of The 12 Days of Christmas!)

So, today’s my second day on Symbicort, and unfortunately, things aren’t going as well breathing-wise as yesterday.  Ick.

I noticed it this morning when I woke up.  I assumed it was just Symbicort-wearing-off lung-lag, but I waited until 8 to take my morning dose, and figured it’d take off the edginess.  I did the first puff in the house, and the second in the car.   (Are they still called puffs with Symbicort if its in a DPI?  I’m unsure of what to call them!)

After arriving at school I took my pre-exercise dose of Ventolin (Dance is my first class), and figured I’d be good to go.  We had a half day today, so we only did about half an hour of dance.  About an hour and twenty minutes after dance ended, my breathing kind of started to suck again.  During class change before my final class, choir, I dosed up with Ventolin again, and things were going good.  Right now I’m still not bad, but coughing off and on with an annoying feeling in my chest.  I’m breathing fine, and my peak flows are high, so I’m hoping for the best.

Two more things.

  • The daycare director and I sorted through paperwork, and I start work on June 16th from 9-5!  Hooray daycare!  Here’s hoping my lungs are ROCKIN’ by then.
  • I want to send a blogged thanks to Rick, our friendly internet-neighbourhood Respiratory Therapy Cave RT and asthmatic.  I e-mailed him with a question, and he got back to me really quickly.  Rick, if you’re reading this, you ROCK!
